Elsa grew up in Alberta with a love for sports, she played college volleyball which sparked her interest in the function of food and its role in fueling her body for performance, this led her along the path to pursue a career in Nutrition. Subsequently, Elsa attended University of Alberta and received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science and completed her clinical dietetic internship in Calgary, Alberta. She completed placements at the Peter Lougheed Centre, Diabetes, Hypertension & Cholesterol Centre, Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre, and Alberta Children’s Hospital.
Following her graduation, as a Registered Dietitian, Elsa relocated to Surrey, British Columbia, to pursue a career in outpatient counseling. She worked as a clinical outpatient Dietitian for the Fraser Health Authority and provided care to patients at the Surrey Memorial Hospital and Jim Pattison Outpatient Care & Surgery Centre. Her role afforded her the opportunity to provide counseling on a variety of nutrition-related issues, including but not limited to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, pre & post-natal care, malnutrition, osteoporosis, IBS, celiac disease, and weight management.
