Manual Osteopathic Practitioner
Jenn spent her youth in competitive dance and cheerleading. Her love for the arts consumed her life until high school graduation and eventually led her to pursue an education exploring how the body functions and moves.
Jenn has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2010 and graduated from the 3000 hour RMT program from West Coast College of Massage Therapy. Since that time she has completed a number of continuing education courses aiming to expand her knowledge and skills. Each course gave her a new perspective but she was left still wanting more.
She realized that the majority of the courses she was interested in were based on techniques that originated from Osteopathy. She began to research Osteopathy and realized that was her next path.
She has competed the five year Manual Osteopathy program from the Canadian College of Osteopathy and is now in the final stage before getting her designation as a Manual Osteopathic Practitioner.
With her continued studies, she strives to understand the complexities of the human body and the interrelationships between structure and function. For Jenn, health is the reflection of balance in the body and this remains the goal of each treatment. With each appointment she preforms a full assessment with the intent of finding the root cause of the pain and/or dysfunction, as it is often not as it appears.
Some techniques that are utilized are myofacial release, visceral manipulation, craniosacral therapy, muscle energy technique, and joint mobilization.
Jenn believes in doing her part in the recovery process by identifying the problem and providing an effective massage. She helps clients to help themselves, by giving them the education and tools to continue their care at home, work, or sport.
