How often do you go to the grocery store and look at the labels thinking
“What is that ingredient? How do you pronounce that? Is this healthy?”
It’s important to be able to identify what foods you’re putting in your body and how they make up who we are.
Do you think your body would rather build its bones, muscles, brain cells, immune function, and literally all of the cells that make up who you are, off of foods like broccoli, chickpeas, lentils, and tomatoes…..or ….foods like Doritos, Kraft single cheese slices, and ultraprocessed white bread.
Which types of foods do you think would lead to a stronger, healthier, and more highly functioning body?
We will be covering the basics of WHAT FOODS ARE this week and how to identify them. We will also be talking about why the nutrition and health sciences are so confusing and how we can build our diets off of simple concepts and stop being led astray by what is trending. (Weight Watchers, keto, high carb, no fat, fasting-which MAY work for some but certainly not most or all.)
Sometimes when we know all the right things to do to achieve our goals they can seem rather daunting or difficult to maintain. It helps to take a step back and focus on the smaller habits that have a greater impact on our baseline of health. Come into this challenge with an open mind and a willingness to learn. Remember, it’s the small changes that make a big impact, so take what speaks to you and don’t overwhelm yourself with trying to do too many things at once. It’s not about perfection, it’s about growth and consistency- even if it’s only 40% consistency. 😉
Don’t forget to answer today’s question in the comments:
Is there anything you’re hoping to learn from this challenge?
