Manpreet grew up in Surrey, British Columbia and started volunteering and working with social service agencies from an early age. She has over 10 years of experience working with people from various ethnic groups, socioeconomic status, religions, ages, and abilities. Manpreet has always been passionate about supporting others and assisting people with their wellness goals. She believes that our mental health impacts our physical health too, and has been a mental health advocate for most of her life.
She pursued her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Associate of Arts in Anthropology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, then completed her Masters of Counselling Psychology degree at Adler University, in Vancouver, BC. She is a lifelong learner who enrolls in training programs to continue being an effective and skilled counsellor. Manpreet specializes in: depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, self-esteem, grief, and relationship concerns.
She understands how intimidating and vulnerable it can be to see a counsellor. That is why she practices with compassion, empathy, and respect. Manpreet helps build emotional and mental safety during her sessions, and works with you to reach your wellness goals. She practices from a client-centered approach, which means she takes the time to really understand you. She also uses interventions and techniques that may work for you, with your permission. She is incredibly passionate about what she does and enjoys seeing others grow!
In her free time, Manpreet enjoys kick boxing, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys going on adventures, and likes to be around nature. Manpreet is excited to be a part of the team and is looking forward to supporting her community members!
